Lutheran Theological Center in Atlanta

The ELCA is concluding its effort to re-establish the Lutheran Theological Center in Atlanta as of January 31, 2024. We are grateful to Rev. Derrick Rice who has worked on this project and for the many good years that the program ran and the important work that came out of it. The ELCA remains committed to accompanying leaders of African Descent and will continue to develop ways of preparing leaders to serve diverse communities. The ELCA values its relationship with the International Theological Center in Atlanta and will work with them to maintain relations with them and other historically Black seminaries. After a pause for discernment and visioning, ELCA African Descent leaders will propose and create a new way forward.
