Horizon International Internship Program
The Horizon International Internship program provides ELCA seminary students with an opportunity to have their ministry shaped by the witness of the world. It is an intensive and transformational opportunity, which aims to enrich the talents and skills of future rostered leaders for the ministry and mission of the ELCA. The Horizon International Internship program is an exciting collaborative venture of the ELCA Service and Justice home area, in cooperation with the synods and seminaries of the ELCA.
There are four components to the application:
- General Application
- CPE Supervisor Recommendation
- Seminary Professor Recommendation
- Candidacy Committee Recommendation
All application materials are provided in the widget on the top called "Application Forms". Due date for all application materials for the 2025-2026 internship year is January 10, 2025. Email Horizon@elca.org to submit application materials. Interviews will take place in January and February, followed by matching to an internship site and letter of agreement. ELCA Orientation will take place in July 2025 (date and location TBD), with deployment to the international internship August/September 2025.
