Located at “the Crossroads of the Reformation,” the ELCA Wittenberg Center is a connecting point which accompanies the people and community of Wittenberg as well as providing resources for visiting groups from the US and around the world.
The Center is located about an hour south of Berlin in Lutherstadt Wittenberg. Between May 1st and October 31st, the Wittenberg English Ministry (WEM) offers:
- Devotional services Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at 4:30 in the Corpus Christi Chapel
- Devotional services Saturdays at 5 pm in either the Castle or City church
- An opportunity to meet local people at the regular English Thursday evening “Stammtisch” (conversation group) with local pastors and Germans who want to practice their English
The Center hosts the annual 8:00 English worship service in the Castle Church on Reformation Day, Oct. 31.
The locally-run “Colleg Wittenberg” offers inexpensive lodging for up to 48 people as well as seminar rooms, a cafeteria, laundry facilities, bikes and other amenities. The Colleg works with many ELCA universities, seminaries, synods and congregations to provide a quality educational experience.
