The Campaign for the ELCA was the first campaign of its kind for the ELCA. It provided an opportunity to make a real and lasting impact on a scale and scope unprecedented for our church. The campaign was designed to:
The campaign was overwhelmingly approved in August 2013 by the voting members of the ELCA Churchwide Assembly. The fundraising effort, the ELCA’s first comprehensive campaign, formally launched on February 1, 2014, and concluded June 30, 2019.
We celebrate all we’ve accomplished together! An announcement of the total fundraising and impact will be made in September 2019. Materials to help spread the word of these accomplishments, including bulletin inserts, video and more, will also be available.
Through this campaign, we not only funded specific ministry priorities, but also built a strong base of current and planned gifts, endowment and a broader base of donors who value and are committed to the work of the ELCA and a vibrant culture of stewardship. This allows us to achieve a higher level of giving that the ELCA in all its expressions will be able to sustain far into the future.
