The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, Vocation and Education Unit and the Evangelical Lutheran Education Association welcome you to the 2008 Biennial ELCA/ELEA Administrator and Pastor National Conference.

The words which instructed the ancient church in Ephesus speak equally well to us today as we prepare for our 2008 conference. Not all of us are gifted to be apostles, not all called to be prophets, or evangelists, pastors, and teachers. The diversity of gifts yields a diversity of calls to serve the Lord, and why should we expect it to be anything else? Each one of us is unique in our giftedness, each in need of others whose gifts complement our own. Not overshadow, or threaten, or denigrate, but complement, for the building up of the body of Christ. Because it’s the Christ, and the company that bears his name, that is the focus of God’s work, and each of us within that fellowship of Christ bears witness to our God who is big into gifting. This conference celebrates one of your gifts – teaching!

Conference Scripture Text
The gifts he gave were that some would be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ.

Ephesians 4:11-12
