Deadlines
The conference registration deadline is Monday, October 6, 2008.
The hotel reservation deadline is Tuesday, September 30, 2008.

Beginning and ending times
The Lutheran Academic Officers’ Conference begins at 7:00 AM on Friday October 30 with a Breakfast Buffet at The Sheraton Seattle Hotel. The skyline of beautiful downtown SeattleThe day will be devoted to plenary sessions, a local field experience and small group discussions. The conference concludes at noon on Saturday November 01.

Travel subsidy

On an as-needed basis, the ELCA will subsidize travel costs for an ELCA college if a travel subsidy will make the difference between participating or not participating in the conference. Please contact Marilyn Olson or Kathie Baker before making air reservations; subsidized flights must be made through Best Travel / the ELCA travel desk. All other conference participants are invited to make their own travel arrangements through their preferred method.

Participants are responsible for such expenses as
(1) personal transportation to and from and around Seattle,
(2) hotel costs and incidentals,
(3) dinner on Friday, and
(4) lunch on Saturday.

Registration fees
Registration fees assist with the cost of some of the meals and contribute toward programming. Make your checks payable to ELCA with “2008 Lutheran Academic Officers Conference” on the memo line. Participants

Conference participant registration is $125.00 (includes scheduled conference meals, materials & programming).

Guests

You are welcome to bring a guest to the conference. Guests who register before October 06 are welcome to join us for all meal functions at the Sheraton. Please see below for meal fees. Include payment for your guest when you submit the registration form.Seattle's world-famous Space Needle

Deadline
The conference registration deadline is Monday, October 6, 2008. Please use the actual registration form to submit your information. Contact Kathie Baker to be sent another registration form, if needed. Contact Marilyn or Kathie if you’d like to register after the October 06 deadline.

Hotel information
The Sheraton Seattle Hotel, 1400 6TH Avenue, Seattle, Washington 98101, is the site of the CIC CAO Conference and the location of our Friday and Saturday sessions.

Rates
$165 singe/double + 15.6% tax
Parking: $35/night for valet; there is no information about self-park.

Reservations
Phone the Sheraton Seattle Hotel directly at 206-621-9000. When making your reservations, indicate that you are with the Council of Independent Colleges CAO Institute to receive the discounted conference rate. You may also register online via the CIC website.

Deadline
The hotel reservation deadline is Tuesday, September 30, 2008.

Friday dinner — on your own to explore
You will be "on your own" on Friday evening to explore many of Seattle’s wonderful restaurants and points of interest. The hotel is conveniently located near historic Pike Place Market, the Seattle Art Museum, the Space Needle, Experience Music Project, and a host of other attractions. The Fifth Avenue Theater, the Paramount Theater, McCaw Hall, and the Seattle Symphony at Benaroya Hall all are just a short walk from the hotel.

Getting around Seattle
The Gray Line Downtown Airporter Shuttle Service provides airport / hotel transportation for $11 per person one way; $18 per person for round-trip. Departures from SeaTac Airport are daily from 5:00 AM to 11:00 PM and from downtown Seattle from 5:00 AM to 11:00 PM daily. Visit Gray Line's website to obtain further information and reserve on-line.
